The ward committee election was conducted by way of a walk-through process similar to IEC election procedures on an election day with a barcoded identification. Voters could only cast their vote in the ward closest to their residence where they are registered.
Thirteen organisations and their respective representatives as nominees were listed on the voting ballad.
Catapult Foundation founder and CEO, Natasha Bruiners was elected as a committee member for Ward 8, Hawston and Fisherhaven, where her pioneering work in community development and upliftment of children and adolescents has become an institution.
Natasha also claimed the coveted Mayoral Achiever of Excellent Award previously.
“I remain committed to realising measurable impact in our community and being elected as ward committee member grants me the opportunity and platform to represent the needs of residents in Ward 8. A special thank you to all those individuals who entrusted me with their vote” – Natasha Bruiners
This statement was issued by the members of the board.
